Trekking (1st route proposal )
Following this track, we will “sink” into the grassy Murgia. This itinerary is not of any particular difficulty, although we will have to face mostly dirt paths.
This trip focus on the “Pulo” of Altamura, a karstic  hollow up to 550 m long and to 92 m deep. We are probably dealing with the crumple of a sinkhole, whose enor¬mous roof has collapsed due to natural causes.
At the northlof “Pulo” we will see numerous caves, which are certainly pre¬historic settlements of hominids.

Trekking (2nd route proposal)

The first part of the itinerary leads us to the Cavone, a deep sinkhole (typical de¬pression of Karstic regions), whose crater appears unexpectedly in the middle of a forested area of conifers, where it’s possible to enjoy the fresh shade of pines, even in the hottest hours of the sultry summer days.
Then the route carries on through extensive fields of wheat, whose colors ranging from green in spring to golden yellow in summer, when buds wait for the harvest.
The last part of the trail proceeds along the highest and most panoramic part of Murgian ridge.
On a day with a limpid sky, from the ridge it is possible to catch a glimpse of the Lucan Appennine.
We will reach the quarries of bauxite and admire the magical atmosphere of the place where the bright red of the stones mixes with the glowing red of the sunset.
